Arjun Kapoor On Going Bald For Panipat: 'I Felt Really Comfortable And It Was Therapeutic'- EXCLUSIVE
Arjun Kapoor didn’t want to miss the golden opportunity to collaborate with a talented filmmaker like Ashutosh Gowariker. To get into the skin of his character, he went bald for real, so we wanted to know how did it materialise? Did Gowariker ever feel that Arjun wouldn’t agree to go bald for the role? Or did Arjun have any reservations initially? Over to the duo:

Ashutosh began by saying, "I knew Arjun would agree because if after doing Ishaqzaade, he does Finding Fanny, then he is raring to go and experiment. He is ready to explore. He is not worried about the star power. So I had the confidence that he will say yes to this character.” WATCH THE VIDEO BELOW:

Arjun went all out expressing how happy he felt on taking up this character and going bald. “Ashutosh had checked out my imagery, and he had seen my songs and films. He had come to this conclusion that I will look correct bald. It's not that he just went on a whim and said that the look will suit me. It was not a decision taken overnight sitting across the table. There is a plan that he had and he executed it in his head,” said Arjun.

Furthermore, he added that going bald “was actually therapeutic”. Added Arjun, “It sounds strange but it's a nice reminder to realise that it is just one aspect of your life. It is not everything. Also, the detailing was right there. It was very meticulously done.”

Finally, we wanted to know what was his first reaction when he saw himself in the mirror after going bald. With a smile on his face, Arjun said, “I was very excited. I felt alive. I felt really comfortable being bald and having that moustache. So to feel like the character is also important.”
